Summary:

Late Bloomer is the second book in the Plant Life series, furthering the adventures of Gerta and Strawberry Cat. It was written, designed, and produced by Michael J. Nelson under the pen name Benny Whaler.

Project Goals:

  • Continue the Plant Life series, expanding on what was accomplished with Plant Life: Le Fleur while improving upon all aspects.

  • Increase the length of the book (Le FLeur was 24 pages, Late Bloomer is 36 pages).

Basic Info:

  • Began in mid-2020, completed and printed in early 2021.

  • 36 pages. Contains two stories, “Late Bloomer” and “The Black Dog”

  • Contains interactive activity pages.

  • Original Art: 10 in. X 15 in. Ink on Bristol board.

  • Finished Book: Printed at 6.5 in. X 10.25 in. with saddle stitching (100 books).
